APOU Announces Jars of Clay Scholarship Winner

December 8, 2011

Chelsea Cathey

Azusa Pacific Online University (APOU) is pleased to announce one of the winners of the Jars of Clay Scholarship Giveaway. Chelsea Cathey, a Southern California resident, has accepted a scholarship to obtain an APOU education.

After graduating early from high school, Cathey enrolled in classes at Fullerton Community College. During this time, she entered the Jars of Clay Scholarship Giveaway on a whim and was shocked to learn she won.

“I had been going through some rough times, and when I got the call I knew God was showing me that He was looking after me and He knew what to do to get me excited about school and life again,” Cathey said.

Starting with APOU’s Spring I session in January, Cathey will begin working toward an Associate of Arts degree. She hopes to transfer to Azusa Pacific University’s art program or an art school after graduating from APOU. Her career goal is to become an animator.

“I’m really eager to begin because of (APOU’s) new classes, and I feel it will be more difficult than I’m used to, and I enjoy challenges,” Cathey said.

Beginning in March, APOU partnered with Jars of Clay to host a scholarship giveaway for three winners to receive an APOU education. To learn more about APOU and its programs, visit www.apu.edu/apou.
